effects from mega; how do i install correctly?

༉‧₊˚. when you're installing plugins (also called effects), there are some basic rules you need to follow. you can install these in my mega folder; for windows - for mac

• if you are downloading a cracked plugin from a trusted website of yours, make sure to check the site for any tutorials on the download.

• if there aren't any tutorials, these are the main 2 installing types explained below:

before installing

• make sure after effects is completely closed!

• extract the zip file

• ➽ for windows use winrar and for mac Folx (also available from the App Store)

• check for "README" and "KEYS" files

the .exe / .dmg installer

• the executable installer is the easiest way to install your plugin. you just run the installer.exe / .dmg file and let the magic happen.

• you may need a key so have it prepared! (most often found as text file in the folder)

the .aex file

• the aex file is the plugin itself. sometimes, you will only get this file, but that doesn't mean it won't work!! just navigate to

  • C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects [YOURVERSION]\Support Files\Plug-ins (on windows)

  • /Applications/Adobe After Effects [YOURVERSION]/Plug-ins (on mac)

• and insert the .aex file there.

• if you can find a .KEY file in the extracted zip file too, make sure to paste it in there alongside the .aex file!

the mac plugins will be added soon. the files are already there, it's just a matter of making it look good!
